Indoor air pollutants are a silent threat, often two to five times higher than outdoor pollutant levels. This threat can be caused by hazardous chemicals that are found in building materials.
Cabinets are one of the greenest building products that go into a house or apartment. because the primary material in cabinets is wood, a very environmentally green and 100% renewable material, the only hazardous components are the glues used in the panels, and the chemicals used in finishing the cabinets.
In years past, glues and binding agents had high levels of formaldehyde, which is a suspected carcinogen. When formaldehyde is present in the air at or above 0.1 ppm, acute health effects can occur. Centerline Wood Products has been at the forefront of making green cabinets and using low emitting materials. Only plywood and particle board products that meet the strict requirement of CARB II certification are used in the construction of the cabinets, making them virtually formaldehyde free. The levels of formaldehyde emissions from the cabinets is now less than what is commonly exhaled from the human body as we breathe. In addition, only ultra low VOC finishing materials are used in the cabinet finish, and all of the VOCs are carefully cured at the factory, leaving no VOC emission coming from the cabinets after they are installed in the houses or apartments.
It is with great pride that CWP offers its customers the greenest cabinets available.
We also welcome the opportunity to manufacture cabinets to meet any special requirement that our customers may have.
